Instagram added a new Threads sharing sticker, which enables users to post Threads to their Stories, providing another way to boost exposure for Threads posts.

As shown in this image, posted by creator Jonah Manzano, the new Threads sticker will let Instagram users choose a Threads post to add to their Stories frame.
When selected, the feature lets users select from a list of any Threads posts that they’ve previously liked or saved, including their own posts.
The sticker replicates the functionality of Threads’ recent quote posts update, which also lets users overlay Threads posts as stickers. However, that function works for shared images instead.
This same functionality has seemingly enabled a new type of Instagram sticker that uses Threads integration with IG to provide more sharing options.
At the same time, Threads has been looking to separate itself from Instagram in order to build its own platform and create dedicated content focus.
Last month, Meta announced that advertisers looking to run campaigns on Threads will no longer need an Instagram account. Meanwhile, Instagram info is no longer used to inform a user’s Threads interest graph.
Clearly, some level of connection between the two apps remains, which is what enables this new cross-post option.
