If marketers think they've got it over consumers, especially when it comes to the 'mystique' of advertising, think again!
I had breakfast with my 10-year-old daughter this morning - we shared one freakin' big pancake - awesome! (see below):
Young Ruby pumped me for information on marketing as she's about to study it (...and advertising) at school this coming week. This is year 4 people! No 'mystique' left marketers, sorry but the cat is definitely out of the bag!
TIP FOR MARKETERS: In the future, focus less on paid-for advertising and start building meaningful relationships with consumers - be open and honest, engage in conversation, stand for something more than just your widget, get real, don't chest-beat...why?...'cos the emerging 'new consumer' is going to see through your tactics a hell of a lot quicker than consumers currently do.
