Pinterest has published its first beauty trends report, which highlights the top make-up, hair, fragrance and skincare trends gaining traction in the app in 2026.
The report data, which is based on year-over-year increases in Pinterest search activity, could provide valuable insights for consumers and marketers. According to Pinterest, 85% of weekly users said they discovered new beauty trends or ideas on Pinterest before seeing them elsewhere.
Pinterest’s report identifies 11 trends currently popular among Pinners. Each trend includes an overview, as well as a list of the key ideas within each category.

The notes provide valuable guidance about what looks are generating attention and sparking interest in the app. This could help to guide marketing approaches for the Pin audience.
In addition, Pinterest announced the launch of a new Beauty Guides element, which will provide guidance on how Pinners can recreate some trending looks.

Pinterest also announced a new partnership with Sephora, tied to the Makeup Maximalism trend, which will help users find relevant products in-store that align with their in-app interests.

Pinterest has become a valuable source of inspiration for many people, and with 640 million monthly active users and rising, it’s clearly delivering discovery value on various fronts.
Beauty is one of the top trends in the app, and as such, these notes could provide valuable guidance to not only Pinterest-specific trends, but broader cultural shifts.
