Threads has added more podcast support tools as the platform works to make itself the key host of podcast discussions, and drive more community engagement in the app.
Threads has been developing podcast sharing and promotion tools for some time, including podcast details on creator profiles and custom podcast thumbnails, which it launched in November last year.
On Wednesday, Threads announced a range of new podcast promotion and engagement options, including:
- Podcast profile and post banners: In addition to profile cards, podcasters can feature their podcast’s logo and info on their profile and posts.

- Episode picker and link cards: Podcast creators can highlight individual episodes, with podcast links presented in Threads as tappable cards.

- Transcript, video, and guest cards: Threads will support podcast transcripts and guest cards in order to better highlight specific episodes. Podcast transcripts were spotted in testing last month.
- Episode reminders: Podcaster creators and their guests can opt in to automatic notifications from Threads that remind them to share new episodes.
- Save episodes: Threads users can keep their favorite episodes in the app.
- Podcast Insights: Finally, Threads is adding new podcast performance insights to help creators understand their reach and response in the app, including data on engagement, clicks and saves.

The new features will provide more ways for podcast creators to promote their content, while they'll also help Threads users engage with other listeners, helping to drive more interest.
As explained by Threads: “Threads is already a place where people are connecting around podcasts, and these updates make it even easier to join conversations about your favorite shows.”
Allowing podcast discussions to stem from shared clips and content could be a good way to encourage community growth on Threads.
Podcast consumption continues to rise among U.S. consumers, with 58% of all Americans listening to podcasts in 2026, according to Edison Research.
