Culture of Content Creation
The Culture of Content Creation is a video series about people who make their own digital content to share with the world - such as blogs, podcasts, wiki entries, online product reviews or videos - to learn why they do it, what they find rewarding, and how they view their role in the world. Started in early 2008, this cultural media project from Elastic Lab continues today, reflecting changes in technology, knowledge and the social fabric of the Internet.
"Working the 9 to 5 was killing me" takes a look at blogger and artist Jessica Doyle. Battling addiction, she made a decision to dramatically change her life and utilize social media to create an outlet for her art and an avenue for sharing with others. Art has been the one constant in her life, saving her from falling into the darkest depths of drug use. Social media provided both a personal and professional support system. As Jessica nears middle age and a renewed state of mental health, she credits her newfound joy and her ability to make a living off of her art to social media. So take a look and learn from "Working the 9 to 5 was killing me."
