The holidays are right around the corner, people are starting to put up festive decorations and you are probably thinking about Christmas shopping already. Pretty soon the Christmas music is going to start playing as well (if it hasn't already). You make all of these changes to your home during the holiday season, why wouldn't you make similar ones to your Facebook page? Bring some holiday spirit, extra engagement and maybe even new customers to your business by making a few simple adjustments over the holidays.
1. Align yourself with the holiday season
This is the number one way to make sure that your product, service and brand are remembered during the holidays. Make sure that your target audience can see the value that your product brings for the holiday season. If you own a bakery maybe you make custom holiday cakes, if you own a restaurant talk about gift cards, so on and so forth.
2. Give holiday discounts
Who doesn't love a discount? Especially around this time of year! Customers are getting discounts thrown at them from every direction, make yours stand out by putting a coupon on your Facebook page! Coupons are also more likely to be shared by Facebook users meaning that you have the possibility of gaining an even larger following if you host a popular deal.
3. Get a holiday makeover
Just like you decorate your home for the holidays you should decorate your Facebook page. There are a lot of fun and creative things you can do with the cover photo to instill that holiday spirit. Mashable has a list of free holiday cover photos if you don't have the time or resources to design a custom one.

4. Get into the holiday spirit
Around this time of year, the holidays are what people have on their minds, you might as well encourage it with a little Christmas quote, or a festive picture to get them engaged on your page. Here is a list of the top 100 Christmas songs of all time to give you a few ideas!

5. Get Creative
Have a little bit of fun with your marketing. A few great ideas from last year were pages that did Christmas tree giveaways where people could select a gift from under the Christmas tree to receive it. Another neat one was pages that displayed advent calendars for their community to receive a similar small gift every day. If you don't have a product to offer every day, you could also offer a different coupon everyday that lasts only for that day.
Whatever you decide to do, remember to tailor it to your specific audience. If you know that your community goes wild for coupons, but doesn't comment or like too much when you post a photo, then avoid the photos and go straight to the deals. Be sure to figure out your audience first so that you are certain they will love your holiday themed changes.
