Fine, I'm a sucker for UI, Stats, and quirky changes to the aforementioned features on websites. I always want to know what they mean, why they were moved/touched/changed. Because you know somewhere somehow in the deep depths of the company, there was a meeting, a half-hour conference, or a decision that led to this minor change.
So LinkedIn changed their stats. Where it used to have a really confusing ever-changing statistic on the bottom right - something to the effect of : In the past 17.4 hours less eight minutes, nineteen people have thought about viewing your profile, and 34 actually have. It just says numbers. Which I find to be a relief.
Here's what it looks like now:
Here's why this is better than the former stats. For one, it gives you more info. That stat is still there - the confusing one - but it's broken up into two. One is the times your profile was viewed, and the other is the amount of times you appeared in searches.
The second line is completely new. It shows the amount of connections you have, and the number of professionals you're linked to as a result.
The best stat is the New people in your network since a certain date. The amazing thing about that is that you can MEASURE the effectiveness of each connection acceptance. Considering you only have 500 invitations in total, you want them to count - so you can see that number (the 8,431 in my case) change according to the quality of connections you had! Awesome!
