LinkedIn shared tips on how to make best use of ads to reach the right audience and maximize response to in-app promotions.
In a four-step playbook, the company offered an overview of how to create ad campaigns in the app, including notes on audience size parameters, format options, targeting and measurement processes.
The guide’s exploration of audience targeting examines how marketers can ensure they’re getting the best results with their ads.

As shown in this image, LinkedIn suggested that a target audience of between 50,000 and 500,000 people will deliver optimal results, as this will enable its ad system to establish enough parameters to find the right people to display each ad to.
The guide then looks at the sales funnel, and what LinkedIn audiences respond best to at each stage.

The guide also explored available ad formats and where each is most applicable.

In addition, the playbook covered optimal timing for a LinkedIn campaign, and offered pointers on ad measurement, as well as how to accurately assess the performance of an in-app promotion.
The pointers are fairly straightforward, and seasoned marketers are likely aware of the key principles and approaches laid out here.
But even so, it’s a useful reminder of ad implementation and measurement, which could help all marketers improve their LinkedIn campaigns.
