TikTok announced the plan for its 2026 Community Fest event, which will put a focus on livestream creators and will include various training and education elements designed to encourage more creators to tap into the app’s live elements.

Beginning on June 11, this year’s Community Fest will be “a summer-long series of educational workshops, in-app competitions, and community-building celebrations of LIVE creators and the fandoms they've built,” TikTok said. “Participating creators are able to learn how to grow their LIVE community through the Creator Academy, complete in-app missions to earn points while LIVE, and show support for their favorite creators during competitions like Match Mania.”
In terms of education, TikTok will be running its first Community Fest Creator Academy. The global workshop series will be streamed on the @tiktok_livefest profile, as well as @tiktoklive_us.
The sessions are designed to teach emerging creators how to build a robust community through TikTok Live. They will include insights from a range of established creators on how to maximize live broadcasting.
The curriculum will include three elements:
- Live 101 - Build a strong foundation for going LIVE and discover key technical tips to get started.
- The Art of Connection - Learn to connect with your audience in the first five minutes and engage in real time.
- Building Your Community - Gain insight into how to leverage TikTok LIVE tools and campaigns to build a vibrant and dedicated audience.
TikTok is also running a Match Mania promotion, which it said is “a global LIVE match tournament during Community Fest that brings creators from around the world together through friendly competition.”=

The game will enable TikTok live viewers to support their favorite creators to help them unlock opportunities to earn rewards.
It’s the third iteration of TikTok’s annual Community Fest event, which is part of the app’s broader push to make livestreaming a bigger element of the TikTok experience.
Livestreaming has become a major business opportunity in China, with the local version of TikTok, Douyin, generating significant revenue and engagement opportunities.
According to the China Internet Network Information Center, as of December 2024, the number of livestreaming viewers in China reached 833 million, which is equivalent to 75.2% of the nation’s total web users.
TikTok is trying to extend that interest to other regions. Its Community Fest provides a key promotional opportunity that could spark more interest in live broadcasts, and eventually extend to live commerce.
Trends don’t always translate across markets, but if TikTok can get more people engaged with livestreaming, the opportunities are significant. That’s why the app is going to be pushing its Community Fest through various activations.
