When is the right time to engage? With many of the clients I work with engaging the audience is not what may be or what may thought to be the best time. It comes sometimes to being the exactly right time.
What the web has offered through social media is the decentralization of information. The ability for people to specialize and draw not on local knowledge only but global knowledge.
I happened yesterday to catch the 10 o'clock news about a story of the jet blue flight attendant Steven Slater who has become a american hero because of aggregation of his treatment by passenger not following procedure and staying in their seat. It was told on fox 5 new that two facebook sites free steven slater had over 80,000 fans together supposely. Maybe he will be as big as kanye west on twitter?
We are seeing with social media groups ; they are able to satisfy these conditions and their judgments are likely to be accurate.Since we are in a decision market and being that social media tools provide elegant and well designed methods for capturing collective wisdom. Is it possible that crowds are more destined to be accurate then experts?
I happened to read seth godins blog which i read daily and today he reflected on our election with technology up to date we are able to know by the hour and maybe up to the minute the vote count. So whats the reason for a secret ballot? It goes to then say whats the need for experts if we can see visually for ourselves to make our own decisions.
I really believe that organizations and people, if they learn to pay less attention to what other people are doing and saying we would see more success going forwards in group influence in organizations, companies and in essence in social media.
