Al Wood pointed me to details about the upcoming Mac operating system code named Leopard. From the blurb:
Leopard Server includes a Wiki Server to make it easy for teams to create and distribute information through their own shared Intranet website....
Once you create a Wiki website and give access to members of the workgroup, everyone will have the same capability to contribute to the site. And it's not limited to just text and images â€" you can also access a group calendar to track meetings and deadlines or send messages to a mailing list to keep others informed. There is a blog feature that's perfect for brainstorming or commenting on work. And there's an option for subscribing to a podcast â€" so if anyone missed that important conference call they can catch up on the news.
What a surprise! If you want managed wiki in a Windows environment then you need Sharepoint as well as the Windows server. In other words, you need to spend more.
