Google has announced a new update to its Gemini AI image generation tools, which could help you produce better images for your promotions, while it’s also announced a new loyalty program option for retailer advertisers via Google listings.
First off, on its latest Gemini update. Google says that it’s updated its AI image generation process, so that its images will look more realistic, and be a better reflection of the people or items shown in AI edited photos.

As explained by Google:
“We know that when editing pictures of yourself or people you know well, subtle flaws matter, and a depiction that’s ‘close but not quite the same’ doesn’t feel right. That's why our latest update is designed to make photos of your friends, family and even your pets look consistently like themselves, whether you're trying out a 60’s beehive haircut or putting a tutu on your chihuahua.”
So if you’re looking to use a model, or edit images of yourself, Google’s Gemini image generation tool will now more closely align with the input image, ensuring greater consistency in outputs, and more valuable, usable depictions.
Google says that it’s also improved its Gemini image retouching and customization options as well, making it easier to edit your images.
“Just give Gemini a photo to work with, and tell it what you'd like to change to add your unique touch. Gemini lets you combine photos to put yourself in a picture with your pet, change the background of a room to preview new wallpaper or place yourself anywhere in the world you can imagine, all while keeping you, you. Once you're done, you can even upload your edited image back into Gemini to turn your new photo into a fun video.”
While it’ll also now enable more fantastical image combinations, with improved output results.

That could provide valuable image editing and customization capacity, which could be a big boost for your marketing visuals.

In terms of advertiser-specific updates, Google’s also rolling out a new loyalty program offering, which will enable retailers to offer special discounts and offers within their Google paid listings.

As you can see in this example, retailers will now have the capacity to drive customer retention through loyalty program offerings within their Google Ads.
“Take Sephora U.S., which uses personalized annotations to show signed-in shoppers specific discounts based on their loyalty tier, resulting in a 20% increase in click-through rate for personalized ads shown to loyal customers.”
It could be a good way to drive stronger brand relationships, and repeat custom for your business.
Google’s also launching a new loyalty goal within Google Ads, which will help retailers optimize their budgets for their highest value shoppers, while they’ll also be able to tailor their bids and drive higher lifetime value.
Some valuable additions to Google’s creation and ad tools, which could be worth factoring into your holiday plans.
