Social objects seems to be the marketing phrase du jour. Respond to that notion as you will (I waver on this topic - one day I like it, next I think it's pretentious crap) but while in Copenhagen I become obsessed with the way in which local taxis have been used as mobile advertising hoardings. Some of the designs are truly inspiring. You can see all 17 that I snapped on my Flickr stream. Fact is they caught my attention which is what people strive for in any market messaging. Whether you could apply that idea to London black cabs is another matter. I see no reason why not but what do I know?
How does that compare with BDO managing partner Jeremy Newman's thinking about advertising? Personally, I think BDO is throwing money down the toilet with poster ads. They're little better than banner ads on web sites except you probably miss seeing them somewhat faster.
