I had a conversation with some high tech executives today exploring the value of twitter for business. The response was not a surprise: "Come on Axel, you are kidding me. I would fire my managers if they waste their time with those toys".
I responded: "OK OK I understand your reservation, but just so you know on Dec 4th we had for the first time more referrals from Twitter to our website than Google" radio silence. "Further: We ran an intro webinar for our new Social Media Academy and we had 300 registrations and over 50% coming from Twitter".
Me concluding: "You would fire your managers? If I would be your board, I would fire you" - big laughter.... "Well may be we need to better understand all those connections...
