Love it or hate it, wikipedia is a decent first stop resource for online research. It just got better. Enter Wikimindmap. Enter a search term, decide which wikipedia version you wish to search and it produces a mindmap of your chosen topic. Like many a great idea, it is blindingly obvious and one I'd like to see embedded within wikipedia.
It also has value for those building out corporate wikis because it dispenses with the need to police entries into wikis in the traditional way. Think about it. A mindmap will quickly reveal anomalies in wiki construction, making the job of gatekeepers a LOT easier.
Trampoline Systems SONAR is a more sophisticated solution for corporate networks but I think Wikimindmap would be a very good alternative for mid-range professional service organisations.
