A little while ago we managed to get our hands on some free credit to advertise with Facebook. Being the industrious Interactive Media students that we are we decided to have an experiment, as well as a little bit of fun.
Facebook offers a "click & play" like advertising platform which is both easy to set up as well as highly targeted. We wanted to see HOW targeted exactly!
In order to do this we needed two things:
A) A specific target audience and utilise Facebook's options to target them
B) A strong call to action in order to get the response from our target audience, proving we'd reached them
The target audience were our fellow students - that's right, our ad was targeted at Interactive Media Strategy students from Bournemouth.
And what better way to lure them in than using a picture of the man they all love to hate - our tutor! Promising them 5 ways to achieve a first in IMS may have also appealed to some of them.
This presentation shows you what we have down, what we achieved and what we learned from it.
The one thing this has shown us is that our tutor does indeed have a very clickable face!
