I read a lot stuff each day but wouldn't necessarily want to talk about all of them. Posting them to a link blog is a sensible way to make them readily available to anyone interested. Maybe it should be called a blonk?
Google Reader allows you to share items of interest from your RSS feeds as an aggregated feed - it's a point and click thing. Today, courtesy of Robert Scoble, I found that I can display the headline, link and a few words from those posts in Twitter using TwitterFeed. It works! Yet again we're talking about a simple but useful service that doesn't require any programming and over which the user has complete control.
I'm not inviting too many people to view the blonk this way as it could easily clutter up people's Twitbin. But...it holds out some very interesting ideas. Say for example I'm engaged on a collaborative research or project. By sharing those posts with a select group of friends, I can keep the real-time information flow relevant. Another use might be in an M&A situation where I need to multi-task across review papers, financial data and related news items.
I can think of this as a throw away style of application or, by using TwitterFeed's filtering mechanism, categorise or tag posts for different constituents of users. If this could be secured behind the firewall then all security issues disappear.
Yet another example of how Twitter can have a serious business use beyond marketing. I'm really starting to warm to this service. It can still be a massive distraction though so be careful out there.
If you're interested the Twitterised blonk link is here.
