As social media use by private individuals takes off, all types and sizes of businesses are now using social networks as a new way to reach potential and existing customers.
Brandify looked at over 20,000 small and medium enterprise websites in the U.S. to see what social network links were present on these websites' home pages.
What they found out was that Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are the top three social networks linked to by SME website homepages. The infographic also differentiates data from local businesses and national brands.
According to Brandify in the infographic below, nearly half of SME hompages link to Facebook. The analytics company notes, however, that Facebook is the only category wherein local enterprises are on equal footing with national brands in terms of adoption.
Twitter, the second-most linked to among the social networks from SME homepages had 38 percent adoption for local businesses and 47 percent adoption for national brands.
YouTube trails Facebook and Twitter with 15 percent (local businesses) and 23 percent (national brands).
