Twitter Provides Last Minute Thanksgiving Weekend Promotion Tips
With Thanksgiving weekend fast approaching, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, most brands have locked down their marketing plan for the period. But if you haven't finalized everything - or even if you have - there is still time to get in some last-minute tweaks to help capitalize on the increased shopping activity.
According to Euromonitor research, 60% of people on Twitter will still be shopping up to the last-minute. That means there's still ample opportunity to reach them with deals and promotions.
In addition to this, almost half of Twitter users who follow retailers on the platform do so to find out about upcoming deals and promotions.
The opportunity is clear - while Twitter is not for every brand, if you do have a following on the platform, it's worth taking into account that fact that people are looking for the latest deals and info, and will be right up to, and even through, the weekend.
Electronics, clothing and entertainment content were the most popular product segments on Twitter last year, so if they relate to your offerings, again, now is the time to get on it and reach out to that audience.
In addition to this, Ann advises that brands should also:
- Help make the holiday season less hectic with life hacks, like tips on home repair and decoration
- Use simple and clear messaging when promoting deals to tap into that demand
- Shorten the path to purchase by linking to product pages for Cyber Monday deals
We're heading into the biggest retail shopping period of the year, and it all kicks off with this coming weekend. It's worth ensuring you're exploring all avenues and maximizing your opportunities via social media outreach.
Also, if you're interested, Twitter's released some new Thanksgiving stickers to decorate your photos.
I mean, maybe you don't want to put a turkey on your head, but they could be useful for brand promotions, tying into the theme.
